On 1st October, Amazon announced they would be discontinuing their Predictive Maintenance Software, Monitron.
In typical Amazon fashion, they made a commitment to support their customers by:
- Allowing current Amazon Monitron customers to continue purchasing devices and using the service as normal.
- Continuing to sell devices until July 2025 and honouring the 5-year device warranty, including ongoing service support.
- Confirming that AWS will continue to invest in the security, availability, and performance of Amazon Monitron, although no new features will be introduced.

Are You A Monitron Customer Needing Assistance?
If you’re currently using Monitron and need help with the transition, we’re here for you.
We currently support several sites across Australia and New Zealand with their Predictive Maintenance strategy. Our Condition Monitoring Software is designed to ingest data from various sources, including Monitron sensors, as well as other operational data systems like your historian.
If you already have Monitron set up, we can seamlessly integrate your sensor data into our platform. This will allow you to complement your existing Vibration Condition Monitoring data with other operational data sources. Factory AI can also ingest transactional data from your CMMS, such as notes from fitters attached to work orders. By combining this data, our AI engines provide valuable context and recommendations, offering you Machine Health insights and prescriptive solutions.
At Factory AI, our mission is to revolutionise how unplanned downtime is managed. We enhance the accuracy and speed of maintenance insights by combining advanced AI, sensor data, operational logs, and external data to generate actionable outcomes for maintenance engineers, planners, and reliability leaders.

You Were Considering Monitron for Your Predictive Maintenance Journey?
Amazon Monitron offered an affordable entry point into the world of Predictive Maintenance Software. However, many found its implementation challenging. We’ve heard feedback that setting up the system was time-consuming, especially for sites with hundreds of sensors, and that the system could become quite noisy. Crucially, it lacked the ability to provide context with its alerts.
Factory AI addresses these challenges by offering a comprehensive, end-to-end service, with prescriptive insights accompanying all alerts.

You’re A Current Factory AI Customer With Some Monitron Sensors?
As mentioned earlier, we currently support various sites across Australia and New Zealand that use Monitron sensors, and we’ll continue pulling data from these devices. If this applies to you, there’s no immediate action required. Amazon has committed to honouring the warranty of your sensors for 5 years. This generous window provides ample time for us to strategically transition you to alternative sensors when yours reach the end of their life cycle. The Factory AI platform is designed to seamlessly integrate data from multiple sources, and this further highlights our unique value proposition.
Factory AI Is Here To Stay
With Amazon Monitron winding down, now is the perfect time to move from basic predictive monitoring to advanced prescriptive monitoring with Factory AI. Our solution offers long-term reliability, supported by an exciting product roadmap driven by our customers. Most importantly, we’re here for the long haul.
